James Scott, formerly known by the artist name “J-Soul”, is a Stellar Award Winning Songwriter and Producer who has performed live before millions of people and appeared internationally on various television networks and radio stations. James’ gifting has enabled him to share his gift throughout the world, singing as a lead vocalist as well as a background vocalist for several National recording artists. His tremendous capacity as a multi-dimensional musician and songwriter has empowered him to be a sought-after producer, arranger, and songwriter. From Rock-Soul, Hip-Hop, R&B, and CCM, James has created works of genius for numerous artists.

Outside of music and simply being a worshiper who enjoys leading others into The Presence of God, James Scott is also the founding and lead Pastor of The Exchange Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. Pastor James is passionate about igniting a movement of awakening, that will save the lost, heal the broken, encourage impaired souls, and empower believers to make disciples that make more disciples- multiplying and strengthening the kingdom of God. James believes in enjoying life in Christ and displaying the Joy of The Lord. Through his witty sense of humor and easy-going, magnetic personality, he wants others to see that living a life in Christ can really be an enjoyable journey.

Along with his musical artistry and serving at The Exchange, James is a community activist and a founder and operator of Freedom Within Walls, a nonprofit organization that fights childhood hunger and executes programming that repairs, cultivates, and uplifts those in challenging situations and circumstances by providing mentoring, nutritional, recreational, and educational programs and opportunities. Pastor James is igniting a movement of awakening through his work in ministry, calling hearts to worship and always endeavoring to demonstrate the love and power of God wherever he goes.
